Klaus Linder

Klaus Linder (born May 29, 1926 in Zurich ; † August 19, 2009 in Basel ) was a Swiss pianist .

Life

Linder completed his Matura (Type A) in 1945 at the Humanist Gymnasium in Basel . From 1946 to 1952 he studied piano with Paul Baumgartner at the Basel Conservatory . From 1948 to 1986 he was a teacher at the Music Academy of the City of Basel . From 1969 to 1974 he succeeded Paul Sacher as director of the institution. Wolfram Lorenzen , Daniel Weissberg and Marianne Schroeder were among his students .
