Klaus Neumann (born January 4, 1942 in Habelschwerdt , Province of Silesia ) is a former German triple jumper who started in the European Championship in 1969 for the GDR .

In 1964 he was GDR champion indoors and outdoors, in 1968 he was again GDR champion, and until 1972 he was second three times behind Jörg Drehmel . On June 22, 1968, he set a GDR record in Jena with 16.82 m.

At the European Indoor Games in 1967 and the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, he could not qualify for the final. At the European Athletics Championships in Athens in 1969 , he succeeded in qualifying the longest jump with 16.78 m. In the finals almost all distances were achieved with impermissible wind support. Neumann took third place with 16.68 m behind Wiktor Sanejew from the USSR with 17.34 m and the Hungarian Zoltán Cziffra with 16.85 m.

With a height of 1.80 m, Neumann's competition weight was 80 kg. He started out for Dynamo Adlershof , and later for SC Dynamo Berlin .
