Klaus Nolting

Klaus Nolting (born April 19, 1940 in Hameln ; † August 25, 2017 there ) was a Lower Saxony politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

After attending primary school in Hameln, Nolting began training and further education at the Deutsche Bundespost . He worked for many years until 1990 as operations manager at the Hameln 2 post office. In 1955 he became a member of the German Postal Union . Nolting joined the SPD in 1959. From 1987 on he was chairman of the SPD city association in Hameln. He was also a member of the SPD sub-district committee Hameln-Pyrmont . From 1973 to 1977 and from 1981 to 2001 he was a member of the Klein Berkel local council ; from 1991 to 1994 he was the local mayor . From 1986 to 2006 he was councilor of the city of Hameln, from 1996 to 2006 as chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. From the 12th to the 14th electoral term (from 1990 to 2003) Klaus Nolting was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament for the constituency of Hameln .

From 1992 to 1997 Nolting was chairman of the supervisory board of the Hamelin housing association and from 1997 to 2007 of the Hameln public utilities . Furthermore, he was a member of the advisory board of the Association for the Care of Severely Handicapped people. V. Coppenbrügge . He was also a member of the European Union and the workers' welfare .
