Klaus Pörtl
Klaus Pörtl (born May 12, 1938 in Budweis ) is a German Romanist .
Life
From 1959 to 1962 he trained as an actor at the Oscar von Schab drama school . From 1959 to 1965 he studied in Munich and Madrid. After receiving his doctorate in 1965, he was a publishing editor at the Scientific Book Society in 1966 . From 1967 to 1971 he was DAAD - Lecturer at the University of Navarra . From 1971 to 1975 he was an assistant or assistant professor in Germersheim . After his habilitation in 1975 at the University of Mainz with Venia Legendi for Romance Philology with special emphasis on Hispanic studies, he taught there from 1976 to 1978 as a private lecturer . From 1978 to 2003 university professor for Romance philology with special emphasis on Hispanic studies in Germersheim from 1990 in the successor of Dietrich Briesemeister . From 1985 to 1990 Vice President for Studies and Teaching at the University of Mainz . He has been retired since 2003.
His research areas are theater in Spain, Portugal and Latin America in the 20th century, literature of the 20th century in Spain, Latin America and Portugal, literature of the Siglo de Oro and 19th century Spain.
