Klaus Stöber

Klaus Stöber (* 1942 ) is a German basketball official and university professor .

Life

Stöber took up a teaching position in Großkayna in 1964 and during his one-year term in office he also teaches the sport of basketball in the village. He was then a teacher at the Halle sports school . After the unification of the GDR and FRG , Stöber was an instructor in the Basketball Association of Saxony-Anhalt (BVSA) in 1990 and 1991, and then from 1991 to 2002 as chairman of the association. In the early days of his office, Stöber played a key role in integrating the BVSA into the German Basketball Association . He was appointed BVSA honorary chairman and remained with the association in an advisory capacity after the end of his term of office. In 2002, the USV Halle awarded him the gold pin of honor.

Stöber worked at the Institute for Sports Science at the University of Halle-Wittenberg as a research assistant and senior assistant. In 1973, his doctoral thesis on the subject of “Investigations of the connections between process accuracy and target accuracy of athletic movements represented in basketball throws” was accepted. There he led basketball courses and in his scientific work dealt with the topics of sports motor skills, tactics in sports games, athletic action under time pressure and the ability to anticipate. In 1983 Stöber brought out the textbook “Basketball in School” together with Irmgard Konzag .
