Frohna ( pronunciation: / ˈfroʊnə / ) is a small town ( city ) in Perry County in the state of Missouri in the United States . At the last census in 2010 , Frohna had 254 inhabitants. The city is part of the Brazeau Township .

Frohna is located in eastern Missouri near the border with the state of Illinois , about 15 miles southwest of Perryville and about 120 kilometers south of St. Louis . The place is near the Mississippi River .
history
The city of Frohna is one of seven cities that were founded in 1839 by settlers from the Kingdom of Saxony . The settlers named the cities after places in their home region, the name of Frohna is derived from that of the community Niederfrohna near Zwickau , whereby the addition Nieder- was deleted from the name. Initially, 27 families lived in the village. In the same year, pastor Ernst Gerhard Wilhelm Keyl set up a room for church services in his house before Frohna received a church building in 1843. A sawmill was built next to the church in the small town at the beginning of the 1860s and a general store in 1865. In 1870, Frohna received a mailroom from the United States Postal Service . The current church of Frohna was built in 1874.
The farm, which was operated by Christian A. Bergt from 1847 onwards, has been preserved with its outbuildings in block construction and has been part of the Saxon Lutheran Memorial, a monument in the National Register of Historic Places, since 1962 .

2010 Census
In the United States Census 2010 Frohna had 254 residents, which were distributed among 102 households and 74 families. 99.61% of the population were white and 0.38% were Native American. There were married couples in 63.7% of the households, 7.8% of the households were occupied by single women and 1.0% by single men. Children under the age of 18 lived in 34.3% of households and seniors over 65 lived in 13.7% of households.
The median age in Frohna was 39.7 years. At the time of the census, 26.0% of the residents were under 18 years of age, 7.1% were between 18 and 24, 26.0% between 25 and 44, 24.0% between 45 and 65 and 16.9% of the residents were older than 65 years. 51.6% of the population were male and 48.4% female.
Census 2000
In the United States Census 2000 there were 192 residents in 84 households and 51 families in Frohna. 99.48% of the population were white and 0.52% were of multiple race. There were married couples in 57.1% of households, children under the age of 18 lived in 26.2% of households and residents over 65 lived in 17.9% of households.
At the time of the census, the median income in Frohna was $ 41,635 per household and $ 51,250 per family. The average per capita income was $ 17,400. 1.8% of the families and 7.0% of the residents of Frohna lived below the poverty line , of these residents 8.0% were younger than 18 years and 22.0% were over 65 years old.
Attractions
The Christian A. Recover Farm is as yet the only historical building of Frohna in since January 10, 1980 National Register of Historic Places out. The site is east of the city and consists of several log houses from the 1820s and 1840s.
Another attraction is a building called "The Small School", erected in 1898, which housed Frohna's primary school after its construction. The school taught in German. In 1969 the school was closed. Today a museum is housed in the building.
Infrastructure
The next national road from Frohna is US Highway 63 , which runs through the eleven kilometers to the west of Uniontown and connects Frohna with Perryville and Jackson . 18 kilometers southwest of Froha there is a connection to Interstate Highway 55 to St. Louis.
Frohna belongs to the Altenburg Public Schools school district , the town's children attend elementary school (K-8) in the neighboring village of Altenburg , and secondary schools are in Perryville and Oak Ridge .
