history

Christ Church Niederfrohna

The first documentary mention of Niederfrohna, as the rule of Heinrich and Jost von "Frohne", dates from October 19, 1236. The rural settlement of the place, which probably takes its name from the Frohnbach flowing through the place, took place under the rule of Wiprecht von Groitzsch and of his vassals. The Christ Church in the center of Niederfrohna was built in 1519 in the Saxon late Gothic style. The basic rule about Niederfrohna was around 1551 when only partially manor Limbach , the other portion was used as office Village out. Around 1696 Niederfrohna was completely under the Limbach manor. In the 18th century Niederfrohna was under the "dry" manor Niederfrohna, d. This means that the manor consisted only of land and judicial powers. The manor house of the manor was built in 1774. The Wetzelmühle was first mentioned in a document in 1562.

Around 1551, Niederfrohna belonged partly to the Schoenburg rule of Penig and the Electoral Saxon office of Chemnitz . From 1696 to 1856 Niederfrohna was completely subordinate to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Chemnitz. Only the Jahnshorn settlement in Niederfrohnaer Flur, which was first mentioned in 1552 , was an accessory to the Kaufungen manor belonging to the Wolkenburg lordship , which in turn belonged as an exclave to the Borna district of Saxony . Jahnshorn was parish church until 1858 to Kaufungen, since then to Niederfrohna. In 1851, Jahn Horn came as part of the rule Wolkenburg and Niederfrohna as an accessory of the manor Niederfrohna to the Royal Saxon Court Limbach Since 1856 belonged Niederfrohna with Jahn Horn to court District Limbach , that in 1875 in the Amtshauptmannschaft Chemnitz opened. In 1936 Mittelfrohna was incorporated with Fichtigsthal .

As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , the Niederfrohna community came to the Chemnitz-Land district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt-Land district and the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which from 1990 became the Saxon district of Chemnitz was continued. When it was dissolved, the Niederfrohna community became part of the Chemnitzer Land district in 1994 , which was added to the Zwickau district in 2008.
