Jahnshorn is a settlement belonging to the municipality of Niederfrohna in the district of Zwickau (Free State of Saxony ).

Jahnshorn is located in the central corridor of Niederfrohna on the south bank of the Frohnbach . The street and the adjacent wooded area are called "Jahnshorn".

The Jahnshorn settlement in Niederfrohnaer Flur was mentioned in 1552 as "Ganßhorn". It was named in 1791, together with today's Uhlsdorf district of Mühlwiese, as an accessory to the Kaufungen manor in the Wolkenburg lordship . Jahn Horn was not included unlike Niederfrohna Office Chemnitz , but as exclave to rule Wolkenburg, which in turn through the beautiful Burgi's dominions by the associated Saxon Official Borna , was territorially separated. Jahnshorn was thus the southernmost place in the Borna district. Jahnshorn was parish church until 1858 to Kaufungen, since then to Niederfrohna.

In 1851, Jahn Horn came as part of the rule Wolkenburg to the Royal Saxon Court Limbach the rule Wolkenburg and in 1856 the only place along with Niederfrohna to court District Limbach , that in 1875 in the Amtshauptmannschaft Chemnitz opened. In the 19th century, Jahnshorn was not only characterized by agriculture, but also by the textile industry.

Through the second district reform in the GDR , Jahnshorn came as a district of the Niederfrohna community in 1952 to the Chemnitz-Land district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt-Land district and the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ) Saxon district of Chemnitz was continued. When it was dissolved, Jahnshorn became part of the municipality of Niederfrohna in 1994 and became part of the Chemnitzer Land district , which was added to the Zwickau district in 2008.
