Klaus Steiner (born October 7, 1953 in Übersee in Chiemgau ) is a German politician ( CSU ). He has been a member of the Bavarian State Parliament since 2008 .

Life

Steiner attended secondary school in Traunstein from 1969 to 1973 and then completed an internship and basic military service until 1974 . From 1975 to 1978 he completed his studies at the civil service college and then worked until 1978 as a judicial officer at the district court of Traunstein and at the Munich public prosecutor's office . He then worked as an advisor to the CSU parliamentary group until 2003 and then until 2008 as a personal advisor to the president of the state parliament .

He is married and has three children.

Steiner joined the Junge Union and the CSU in 1970 and later became the party's local chairman. He has been CSU district chairman in the Traunstein district since 2003 . Since 20 October 2008 he is a member of the state parliament in Bavaria . There he is both a member of the Committee on Food, Agriculture and Forestry and a member of the Committee on Education, Youth and Sport . He represents the constituency of Traunstein ( constituency of Upper Bavaria ) in the state parliament. At the end of 2008 he succeeded Anton Kern, who had left the state parliament at the time, as chairman of the prison advisory board of the Laufen-Lebenau prison. Steiner is currently a member of the Committee for Environment and Consumer Protection.
