Klaus Vieten

Klaus Vieten (born February 13, 1932 ; † January 2, 2014 ) was a German geologist and mineralogist .

Klaus Vieten studied at the University of Innsbruck and at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . In Bonn, he was in 1961 with the work of the trachytic Latit alkaline basalt association of the Siebengebirge on the Rhine to Dr. rer. nat. doctorate , and took up the professorship for mineralogy and petrology there. In 1997 he retired .

Vieten had been a member of the Catholic student association AV Austria Innsbruck in the ÖCV since 1953 and later the KDStV Novesia Bonn in the CV . He was a member of the Bonn University Club.
