Klaus Walther (editor)
Klaus Walther (born January 9, 1955 in Darmstadt ) is a German journalist , television editor , foreign correspondent and communications manager .
Life
After primary school he attended the Prälat-Diehl grammar school in Groß-Gerau . He completed the upper school in the boarding school Landschulheim Schloss Ising am Chiemsee. This was followed by military service, studies and an editorial traineeship. He then worked as a parliamentary correspondent, radio and television editor and foreign correspondent. He later became press spokesman and head of communications for various German corporations.
Klaus Walther is married, has two children and lives in Holzkirchen .
Career
- 1973–1974 chairman / spokesman for the student union in Hessen
- 1974–1975 federal spokesman for the student union
- 1976–1980 military service, law studies and editorial traineeship at Münchner Merkur and other newspapers (including Axel Springer Verlag )
- 1981–1984 radio and television editor at SWF Baden-Baden, Studio Mainz and Studio Bonn
- 1984–1990 parliamentary correspondent in Bonn for ZDF
- 1991–1991 editor in the studio of the news program today at ZDF
- 1991–1995 foreign correspondent and deputy studio manager in Washington for ZDF
- 1996–1999 Head of Corporate Communications at Ruhrgas AG in Essen
- 1999–2013 Head of Corporate Communications at Deutsche Lufthansa AG in Frankfurt
- Since July 2013 Head of Communication and Politics at Infineon Technologies AG in Munich
Awards
- 1993 Golden Hedgehog Media Prize together with Peter Ellgaard for mine sweepers in the Gulf
- 2001 PR Manager of the Year
- 2005 PR Report Awards: PR Team of the Year
