The Klausentalhütte is a managed refuge of the local association Diedesfeld of the Palatinate Forest Association in the Palatinate Forest . It is located in the southern part of the Haardt in the valley exit of the Klausental in the Rhine plain . The hut is located at an altitude of 265 m .
Access and walks
There is a parking lot for hikers about 200 m away , which can be reached from Alsterweiler or Diedesfeld. From the hut, ascending through the Klausental, the Kalmit summit (672 m) can be reached via the Hahnenschritt pass and the Hohe Loog (618 m). The Hambach Castle can be a destination as a starting point for further hikes . The neighboring huts of the Palatinate Forest Association are the Kalmithaus and the Hohe-Loog-Haus .
history
The hut was built by the local group Diedesfeld of the Palatinate Forest Association in 1961. Until 2001 the hut was managed in-house, since then it has been in the hands of changing tenants.
