Klein Below is a village in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is part of the municipality of Neetzow-Liepen .

history

Klein Below is an old settlement area, as evidenced by the Bronze Age burial mound west of the village with relatively large burial mounds. Five are currently in good condition. The barrow field is provided with an information board on the road. Other archaeological evidence is also present in the area.

Klein Below was first mentioned in 1272 as Belowe . The Slavic name means "Weißwasser" or "Weißbach". The current name was not used until 1698.

The place is a typical manor village with the estate and the farm worker data line. Klein Below formed a manor with Mantzelshof. In 1536, the Heyden family received the feud over the place in the feudal letter. It was not until 1850 that Karl Heinrich August Hans von Heyden sold the estate to Wilhelm von Kruse on Neetzow.

In 1865 Klein Below had 4 houses and 5 farm buildings with 59 inhabitants.

Since 1893 Klein Below has been affected by the Mecklenburg-Pomerania narrow-gauge railway (MPSB) with the Friedland-Jarmen line, which, like all other lines, was dismantled in 1945 as a repair.
