Padderow is a village in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district . It is part of the community of Neetzow-Liepen . The federal road 110 runs through the village .

history

Padderow was first mentioned in 1222 as "Pedrov" and "Pedrow". In Slavonic this means something like "undermine". The document was named when Duchess Ingardis, widow of Kasimir II , donated the village to the Stolpe monastery. How long the village remained in the possession of the monastery is currently unclear.

According to the first reports, the estate belonged to Colonel Wilhelm Burchard Freiherr Müller von der Lühne before 1718. In the same year he sold the estate to the Swedish Major General Hans Julius von Kirchbach. The von Kirchbach family and Hans Gotthilf did not immigrate to Pomerania from Thuringia until 1701. In 1720 Hans Julius von Kirchbach was raised to the baron status by the Swedish King Friedrich . The Kirchbachs owned the estate until after 1865.

The village had only 4 houses and 10 farm buildings and a total of 60 residents who were parished to the Jarmen church and schooled in Groß Toitin. Until August 1, 1946 Padderow was a district of Krien , after which the place was reclassified to Neetzow . Padderow has been part of the Neetzow-Liepen community since January 1, 2015 .
