History Liepen

The barrows in the area suggest a settlement since the Bronze Age, which continued into the Slavic period.

In 1222 Liepen was mentioned in a document as Lipz , located in Burgwart Meseritz. Duchess Ingardis, the widow of Duke Casimir II, gave the village to the Stolpe Monastery. Later the place was also called Lypa in 1328 . The name means "linden tree".

In 1865 the place consisted of two parts, the domain, which arose from the secularized monastery property in 1534, and the farming village. The domain was given to tenant Rossow and consisted of 7 residential and 13 farm buildings, a poor house and a windmill. The domain had 107 inhabitants in 15 families.

On the high bank of the Peene, a brick factory was built for the estate and the village's own needs, which used the clay deposits in the Peene valley.

The farming village had 168 inhabitants in 36 families. The following buildings were available: 1 church with 1 preacher's house, 1 sexton and school house, and 1 preacher's widow's house. In addition, there were 20 residential and 25 farm buildings, 2 windmills, 1 forge and 1 jug. The buildings belonged to 6 large and 5 small farms.

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Priemen was incorporated.

The church of Liepen was the mother church of Preetzen and Priemen, as well as Kagenow.

The currently well-preserved estate was privatized and renovated after 1990, but later went bankrupt and was privatized again around 2010 and comprehensively modernized. A hotel is located in the manor house, and a restaurant with conference rooms and a farm shop have been expanded in the adjacent former farm buildings. The interiors are rustic. A swimming pool with a complete spa area has been set up. The renewed park is still under reconstruction.
