history

Preetzen was mentioned in a document in 1228 as "Pretzene". It is a Slavic foundation and means "cross country". The place belonged to the Burgward Meseritz. It was given to St. John's Church in Lübeck by Duke Bogislaw II , but the latter did not use the property because the place was populated by Wenden. Therefore, Duke Barnim I canceled this donation in 1228 and gave the church of Lübeck other possessions and their taxes.

In 1574 it is recorded that Preetzen is an allodial manor and belonged to the von Hahn auf Müggenburg family, the other part belonged to the von Krakewitz family.

As an opened fiefdom (the previous owners were probably extinct) the estate came to the Chancellor Philipp Otto von Grumbkow in 1724 , who sold it to Zabel von der Dollen in 1725. In 1732 the property went to Joachim Ehrenreich von Ketelhack, but then again in 1733 to the meanwhile advanced Upper President and Minister of State PO von Grumbkow. Then ownership changes again: Adolph Heinrich von Winterfeld , von der Dollen, von Glöden and von Tornow, until Carl Dudy came into possession for a long time from 1840.

In 1865 Dudy was still the owner, the village had 9 residential and 12 farm buildings, 1 branch church that belonged to Liepen and 1 school building. 144 residents lived in the village.

The village complex is a typical manor village, with the dominant manor and the farm worker data line. This type of village has hardly changed since the 19th century, even if the estate no longer has its function.

The stately estate is still almost completely preserved today, with a manor house, inspector's house and several farm buildings made of field stone with brick elements.
