The Kleine Gleichberg is the 641.3 m above sea level. NHN somewhat smaller of the two singular equal mountains east of Römhild in the Grabfeld landscape in the Hildburghausen district , Thuringia . On it is the Celtic oppidum Steinsburg .
Due to the proximity of its bigger brother , which is less than 3 km away and at 679 m , slightly higher , the Kleine Gleichberg is not particularly dominant . However, its prominence is more than 200 m.
A hiking trail leads from the Steinsburg Museum , located directly on the saddle between the two equal mountains, almost straight ahead to almost the summit, only to circle it in a spiral shape at the last few meters.
From the stone plateau on the summit of the Kleiner Gleichberg you can enjoy, especially in winter, a good all-round view of the Thuringian Forest , the more distant Rhön , the Haßberge , Straufhain castle ruins, the Veste Coburg etc., which in summer, depending on the direction of the compass and through the foliage , is partially restricted.
