Szarvas small area

The small area Szarvas (Hungarian Szarvasi kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) in the north-west of Békés County in the southern Great Plain .

The small area had 42,909 inhabitants (as of the end of 2012) on an area of ​​821.57 km² and comprised eight communities. In the course of the administrative reform of 2013, it was divided into the Gyomaendrőd district (Hungarian Gyomaendrődi járás ) and the Szarvas district (Hungarian Szarvasi járás ).
