Small area of ​​Békés

The small area Békés ( Hungarian Békési kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) in the center of Békés county in the southern Great Plain until the end of 2012 . In the course of the administrative reform of 2013, it was split up and seven municipalities were assigned to the Békés district and one each to the Békéscsaba district and Gyomaendrőd district .

The small area had 41,854 inhabitants (end of 2012) on an area of ​​633.87 km² and comprised nine municipalities.
