The small area Szeghalom (Hungarian Szeghalomi kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) in the north of Békés county in the southern Great Plain until the end of 2012 .

The small area had 39,366 inhabitants (as of the end of 2012) on an area of ​​1009.73 km² and comprised nine municipalities.

The administration of the small area is located in the city of Szeghalom .
