Sarkad Small Area

Location of the small area of ​​Sarkad in Hungary

The small area Sarkad (Hungarian Sarkadi kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) in the east of Békés county in the southern Great Plain . At the beginning of 2013 it was completely transformed into the district of the same name (Hungarian Sarkadi járás ).

The small area had 23,228 inhabitants (end of 2012) on an area of ​​570.97 km² and comprised eleven municipalities.

The administration of the small area was in the only city of Sarkad .
