Sarkad is a Hungarian city in the district of the same name in Békés County .

Geographical location

Sarkad is located in the east of Békés County, on the right bank of the Fekete-Körös River , a good five kilometers from the Romanian border.

Attractions

In the center of the settlement is a reformed church with nine towers. The bust of King Stephen the Holy and the equestrian statue of Prince Árpád were erected on the occasion of the Millennium. There is also a monument to the heroes of the First and Second World Wars and the memory of the martyrs of Arad in the city. The Béla Bartók cultural center with library, the Sándor Márki collection of local history , the city gallery and the Sándor Kónya memorial room offer interesting programs for culture lovers.
