The Klenzsee is located in the Mecklenburg Lake District southeast of Mirow and south of Neustrelitz in the south of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

The water area is located in the municipality of Wustrow , whose main town is Wustrow not far from the eastern shore of the lake. The elongated lake is a maximum of 1.3 kilometers long and up to one kilometer wide. It is divided into a larger north basin and two bays in the south and east. The forest area of Canower Heide is located on the south-west bank . Federal road 122 runs not far from the lake to the south and east . To the west, the Klenzsee has a transition to the Gobenowsee . In the north there is a ditch to the Heegesee .
In Wustrow there is a transfer point for water hikers to the Plätlinsee .
Origin of name
The name is probably derived from the Slavic word kląčĭ for morass , swamp .
