history

In the 1960s, Klettham was built on as a south-western extension of the city. The place grew due to the influx of displaced people . In addition, many soldiers lived in Klettham, first from the US Army , then from the German Armed Forces , although many only stayed in the village for a few years.

Starting in 1962, the Protestant Church of the Redeemer was built according to plans by Hans-Busso von Busse . On June 6, 1964, the Catholic Church of St. Vinzenz was inaugurated, which has 450 seats and was then considered the most modern combined facility (kindergarten, church, etc.) in Germany. Until the municipality reform in 1978, Klettham belonged to the municipality of Altenerding . On May 1, 1978, this was incorporated into the city of Erding as part of the municipal reform.

In 2019 the city of Erding started a planning process with the aim of redesigning Klettham within ten to 15 years; in particular, a new town center is to be built around the Church of the Redeemer.
