Klez.e is a band from Berlin that was founded in 2002. The name comes from the Klez computer virus that was circulating in the early 2000s. Their music started in independent pop-rock with the occasional electronic throw-in.

history

The band was founded by Tobias Siebert (vocals, guitar, bass), Filip Pampuch (drums), Daniel Moheit (bass, keyboard), Christian Schöfer (guitar, electronics) and Patrick Vollperg (guitar, keyboard). After their album Vom Feuer der Gaben (2009), the band withdrew for a long time.

In spring 2011, however, Klez.e worked musically on a theater production for Alans Krieg by Emmanuel Guibert at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater Berlin together with the director Sascha Hargesheimer and the dramaturge Cornelius Puschke and played several performances and guest performances on the stage alongside the actors.

At the end of 2012, after a two-year break, Klez.e gave a single concert at the "All Good Things Festival" in the Lido Berlin and announced a turnaround in sound and text with some hitherto unknown songs and only three. At the beginning of 2016 Klez.e hinted at a new album. On January 13, 2017, the fourth studio album, Disintegration, was released after an eight-year break. The sound is much darker and meets more in New Wave or Post-Punk. The recording combines reduced, cold music with critical texts, which are often aimed at the current political situation.

Tobias Siebert, who has produced all Klez.e albums so far, has distinguished himself as a producer for more than 50 albums by other bands and projects in his studio Radiobuellebrueck since 2000.
