Since the beginning of 2007 the hospitals of the district of Upper Bavaria (kbo) have been working together under the umbrella of a municipal company. kbo provides inpatient, semi-inpatient and outpatient care in the areas of psychiatry , child and adolescent psychiatry , psychotherapy and psychosomatics as well as neurology , social pediatrics and neuropediatrics in the Upper Bavaria district .

One hundred percent daughters are the non-profit GmbHs kbo-Inn-Salzach-Klinikum , kbo-Isar-Amper-Klinikum , kbo-Heckscher-Klinikum , kbo-Lech-Mangfall-Kliniken , kbo Children's Center Munich , kbo Social Psychiatric Center of the hospitals in the Upper Bavaria district and kbo-Service GmbH . In addition, the kbo municipal company is a co-partner of the non-profit GmbH Autismuskompetenzzentrum Oberbayern and a 51 percent shareholder in the IT of the district of Oberbayern GmbH. The Ambulante Psychiatrische Pflegedienst München (APPM), founded in 2011, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the kbo social psychiatric center. kbo is operated in the legal form of an independent municipal company under public law (Art. 75 District Code). The organs of the kbo municipal company are the board of directors and the administrative board (currently chaired by the district council president Josef Mederer ). The municipal company is based in the state capital Munich .
