Inn-Salzach Clinic
The kbo-Inn-Salzach-Klinikum ( district clinic Gabersee until December 31, 2006 ) is located on the western outskirts of Wasserburg am Inn in the village of Gabersee . »Kbo« stands for » Clinics of the District of Upper Bavaria «. It is a pavilion- style specialist hospital for psychiatry , psychotherapy , psychosomatic medicine , geriatrics and neurology .
history
The house was founded in 1883 as the “Royal Bavarian Healing and Care Facility for the Mentally Ill”. Through expansion and modernization, a system of individual pavilions and buildings was created in a park landscape on an area of around 50 hectares. The first director to lead the establishment of the facility was the psychiatrist Melchior Josef Bandorf .
Since 2004, the clinic has been a teaching hospital of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .
On March 1, 2007, the Neurological Clinic opened a new Intermediate Care Unit / Stroke Unit for the optimal care of stroke patients.
Since November 5, 2007 the clinic has had a branch in Freilassing . This is located in a building with the Freilassing district hospital, which is part of the municipal hospital group Kliniken Südostbayern . With four wards, a day clinic and an institute outpatient clinic, the Freilassing clinic ensures basic care for the Berchtesgadener Land district.
Also since 2007 the kbo-Inn-Salzach-Klinikum has been operating as a non-profit GmbH in the association of the hospitals of the district of Upper Bavaria (kbo).
Founded in 1980 as a day and night clinic, the Rosenheim day clinic today offers 40 day-care treatment places. In addition, the day-care facility in Altötting has been part of the day-care clinic with 20 places since 2014.
At the Freilassing location, the clinic has been the teaching hospital of the Technical University of Munich since 2015 .
Facility
The clinic has 759 beds, for the treatment of which 1500 employees are available.
The clinic oversees the catchment area of the southeast Upper Bavarian districts of Traunstein , Ebersberg , Mühldorf , Altötting , Berchtesgadener Land as well as the city and district of Rosenheim with the specializations of general psychiatry, clinical social psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, addiction medicine, forensic psychiatry and neurology .
Attached to the house are a vocational school for health and nursing with 150 apprenticeships and a nursing school with 25 places.
In Wasserburg there is a small museum with a permanent medical history exhibition.
