The von Kloeden family , also known as Klaeden or Klöden , is a Prussian noble family that still exists today.

Origin and history

The family of Kloeden is a altmärk Steam Uradelsgeschlecht whose eponymous headquarters at Stendal in the Altmark is. There are several branches that lead to different spellings of the family name: the extinct I. line carried the name Klöden, while the still existing II. Line the name Klaeden and the also still blooming III. Line bear the name Kloeden. The first documented gender member is Peter de Clodene, who appears between 1162 and 1189. With Heinrich von Klöden, governor of the Altmark, documented in 1333, died around 1346, the safe line of tribe begins.
