Wolfdietrich von Kloeden

Wolfdietrich von Kloeden (born May 2, 1932 in Wernigerode ) is a Protestant theologian and philosopher .

Life

Kloeden is the first son of the Prussian captain Wilhelm von Kloeden (1888–1945, died in Soviet captivity) and his wife Elisabeth, née von Barfus . From 1948 to high school graduation in 1950 he attended the Pforta State School in Schulpforte . This was followed by an eleven semester study of Protestant theology at the Humboldt University in Berlin . After taking his first theological exam, he gave religious instruction at high schools in Berlin. In the summer semester of 1956 he studied psychology at the Free University of Berlin . At the end of his theology studies and beyond, he attended Liselotte Richter's seminar on the philosophy of religion . Here his interest in the works of Sören Kierkegaard was aroused. After a stay in Sweden in 1957/58, he studied in Göttingen from 1958 to 1960. On August 1, 1960 he entered the service of the Braunschweig Evangelical Lutheran regional church . After the second theological exam and ordination , he was appointed assistant preacher at the St. Pauli Church in Braunschweig. In May 1963 he became pastor in Süpplingen in the Helmstedt district. With a thesis on Kierkegaard he received his doctorate in 1966 at Wolfgang Trillhaas in Goettingen Dr. theol. From 1978 he was professor for theology and social philosophy at the Evangelical University of Applied Sciences Rhineland-Westphalia-Lippe in Bochum .

He is a member of the Kierkegaard Academy and Member of the Board of the International Kierkegaard Commentary. His daughter is the theologian and pastor Gesine von Kloeden.
