George of Kloeden

Friedrich Ludwig Georg von Kloeden (born November 27, 1849 in Potsdam , † July 20, 1929 in Saffig ) was a Prussian major general and member of the state parliament .

Georg was the eldest son of the Prussian Lieutenant General Ludwig von Kloeden (1822–1898) and his wife Ida, née Weigand (1828–1892).

Career

After visiting the French Gymnasium in Berlin Kloeden occurred on 27 March 1867 as a cadet in the 1 Emperor Alexander Grenadier Guards Regiment. The Prussian army and advanced to early July 1868 second lieutenant . During the Franco-Prussian War he became adjutant of the 1st Battalion on July 20, 1870 and took part in the battles at Gravelotte , Beaumont , Sedan and Le Bourget and the siege of Paris .

Awarded the Iron Cross 2nd class, Kloeden was appointed regimental adjutant after the peace treaty in early August 1874 and promoted to prime lieutenant in mid-October 1875 . On June 13, 1876 he was appointed adjutant of the 55th Infantry Brigade and on November 12, 1878 he was left in this position à la suite of his regiment.
