The Eggenfelden Monastery is a former Franciscan monastery (OFM) in Eggenfelden in Bavaria in the Diocese of Regensburg . It existed with interruptions from 1649 to 2013.

history

The monastery, consecrated to the Holy Cross, later St. Antonius of Padua , was founded in 1649 by the citizens of Eggenfelden and the Bavarian Observant Province of the Franciscans; it was dissolved in 1802 in the course of secularization . In 1832 Eggenfelden was rebuilt as a hospice and again in 1841 as a convent . A special emphasis was recently placed on the offer “Monastery to live with”, in which those interested could take part in the life of the community for a while . Due to a lack of staff, the German Franciscan Province , in which the Bavarian Order Province was absorbed in 2010, had to close the monastery in Eggenfelden in 2013.

Since then, the monastery buildings have been used by an institute for organizational consulting and personal development.
