history
Founded in 1137 by Gelduin, Lord of Landal and Broualan, the monastery belonged to the Congregation of Savigny . With this it joined the Cistercian Order in 1147 and submitted to the filiation of the Clairvaux Primary Abbey . It was disbanded in the French Revolution in 1790 or 1791. Today it is part of an agricultural estate.
Buildings and plant
Church (with three-aisled nave and transept, crossing tower and east facade from 1772) and cloister (Gothic and made of stone) have disappeared. The convent buildings were renewed in the 17th century and restored in 1772. A vaulted two-aisled hall (monk's hall; usually referred to as a cellar) with five massive cylindrical columns from the 12th century (probably around 1140–1145) with another hall below has been preserved. In Epiniac and Baguer-Pican there are various pieces of equipment from the monastery.
