The Abbey Marienkron was a Carthusian monastery in Pomerania (now West Pomeranian Voivodeship ).

history

The monastery was founded by Ahrensbök near Lübeck in 1394, initially on the southern edge of the city of Körlin in Pomerania, at the instigation of Duchess Adelheid, Bogislaw V's widow , with the consent of her sons. The monastery was moved from there in 1406 to Schlawe and in 1407 to the vicinity of Rügenwalde . After a fire in 1430, the monastery was rebuilt. His library was important. King Eric of Pomerania was particularly closely associated with this monastery. During the Reformation , Johannes Bugenhagen caused the monastery to decline, which was dissolved in 1534 and from then on used as a castle.
