The Dresden Boys' Choir is a well-known choir in Dresden . It was founded in 1971 by Manfred Winter and successfully managed until September 1998. Manfred Winter himself was a member of the Dresden Kreuzchor and, as a student councilor, headed the New Dresden Choir (teachers 'choir of the city of Dresden) and today's girls' choir of the JugendKunstschule Schloss Albrechtsberg Dresden.

Thanks to regular concert dates and concert tours, the Dresden Boys' Choir is also known at home and abroad beyond the boundaries of the city of Dresden. The Dresden Boys' Choir was sponsored by the House of Teachers Dresden (1975 to 1990), the Dresden City Administration (1990 to 1998) and then the Heinrich Schütz Conservatory in Dresden . The ensemble consists of around 100 boys and young men. The repertoire ranges from sacred to secular to modern literature.

The choir has been headed by Matthias Jung since 1998 , who had previously gained experience as a choir assistant and acting Kreuzkantor with the Tölzer Knabenchor and the Dresdner Kreuzchor .
