Knarvik is a place in the western Norwegian Fylke Vestland . It is the administrative center of the municipality of Alver and at the same time the regional center of Nordhordland . 4995 inhabitants (as of 2011) live here.
Knarvik has a high school with almost 1000 students. There is also a large shopping center, the Knarvik senter , where the Norwegian newspaper Nordhordland is based.
The European route 39 runs through the village , which leads over the Hagelsundbrua and the Nordhordlandsbrua to Bergen .
