Nordhordland is a landscape in western Norway , which includes the northern parts of the former Fylke Hordaland . Nordhordland consists of the municipalities Alver , Austrheim , Fedje , Masfjorden , Modalen , and in some definitions also Osterøy and Vaksdal . Nordhordland comprises 5 or 7 municipalities and has an area of ​​2,686 km² and a population of 42,365 (July 1, 2009). The regional center of Nordhordland is Knarvik .

Nordhordland is one of 15 districts that together make up the Vestlandet region .
