Midthordland (also written Midhordland ) is a landscape in western Norway , which consists of the central regions of the former Fylke Hordaland . It comprises the 6 municipalities of Askøy , Austevoll , Bergen , Bjørnefjorden , Samnanger , and Øygarden , and has an area of ​​1,785 km² and a population of 337,146 (July 1, 2009). The capital of the Midthordland region is Bergen .

Midthordland is one of 15 districts that together make up the Vestlandet area .
