The Kobowen Swamp is a swamp area in the southeast of South Sudan .

It is located in the north of the state of Eastern Equatoria , near the Ethiopian border, around 300 km northeast of Juba , the capital of South Sudan. The swamp extends lengthways in a valley, has an area of ​​75 km², borders directly on the Kenamuke swamp in the north and is dominated by alluvial forest vegetation.

Its water comes from several rivers that have their source in the Didinga hills and in the Ethiopian highlands . It drains into the Sobat , a tributary of the White Nile, via the Kenamuke swamp and its outflow Kangen .
