The Kohlenhof is a single farmstead and a former mining operation from the early modern period .

Geographical location

The coal farm is located in the Hutten district , 1.7 km southwest of the village, a district of Schlüchtern in the Main-Kinzig district in Hesse at an altitude of 425 m above sea ​​level .

history

The farm was assigned in 1786 by the state rulers, the Landgraviate of Hessen-Kassel , the County of Hanau-Munzenberg , Amt Brandenstein . In 1803 the Landgraviate was elevated to the status of the Electorate of Hesse . During the Napoleonic period, the Brandenstein office - and with it the coal yard - was under French military administration from 1806 and then from 1810 to 1813 under the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt . Then he fell back to the Electorate of Hesse. After the administrative reform of the Electorate of Hesse in 1821, during which the Electorate of Hesse was divided into four provinces and 22 districts, the Brandenstein office was absorbed into the newly formed Schlüchtern district .
