The Koide ( Japanese 小 出 氏 , Koide-shi ) were a family of the Japanese sword nobility ( Buke ) from the province of Owari , which was derived from Fujiwara no Muchimaro (680-737). With an income of 29,000 Koku , the Koide residing in Sonobe ( Kyoto Prefecture ) belonged to the smaller Tozama daimyo of the Edo period .

genealogy

Older branch

  • Hidemasa ( 秀 政 ; 1540-1604) was born in Nakamura ( Owari Province ), the birthplace of Toyotomi Hideyoshis . He married Hideyoshi's sister and, thanks to the influence of his brother-in-law, received Kishiwada ( Izumi ) with 60,000 koku and the title of Harima no kami . Together with Katagiri Katsumoto, he was appointed tutor of Hideyori, Hideyoshi's son. When the battle of Sekigahara came, the sick Hidemasa sent his son Yoshimasa, who fought on the side of Ishida Kazushige .
  • Yoshimasa ( 吉 政 ; 1565-1613) received the Izushi Castle in Izushi ( Tajima ) with 60,000 koku in 1595 and then followed his father in 1604 on the Kishiwada domain.
  • Yoshihisa ( 吉英 ; 1586–1668), Yoshimasa's son took over Izushi in 1604 and in 1612 shared his property with his brother Yoshichika. This line expired in 1696.

Younger branch

  • Yoshichika ( 吉 親 ; 1586–1643), brother of Yoshihide, resided from 1619 in a permanent house ( jinya ) in Sonobe ( Tamba ) with 29,000 koku. After 1868 Vice Count.
