Kishiwada ( Japanese 岸 和田 市 , - shi ) is a city in Osaka Prefecture on Honshū , the main island of Japan .
history
In the Middle Ages, the place was under a family with the same name. The Miyoshi later resided there. In 1582 Nakamura Kazuuji built a castle there, but the Daimyō Koide received after the Battle of Sekigahara. Subsequently, the Matsudaira (Matsui) resided there from 1619 to 1640 and then the Okabe until 1868 .
Attractions
The important castle complex - with the restored castle tower - has been preserved.
This city is famous for its Danjiri festival, which takes place every September. Large floats are pulled through the city on long ropes.
