Kawachinagano ( Japanese 河内 長野 市 , -shi ) is a city in Osaka Prefecture in Japan .

Kawachinagano is southeast of Osaka and Sakai .

history

The previously existing [district / rural] city of Nagano (Nagano- chō ) in the district of South Kawachi ( Minami-Kawachi-gun ) merged on April 1, 1954 with the five villages of Mikkaichi, Kawakami, Amami, Kagata and Takō and became independent city (-shi) . In order to clearly differentiate it from Nagano-shi in the Shinano Province / Nagano Prefecture , which has existed since 1897, the ancient province name Kawachi was placed in front of the place name. Kawachi-Nagano was the 18th independent city in Osaka with around 31,000 inhabitants at the time.
