history
The city of Hashimoto was founded on January 1, 1955 from the union of the municipality of Hashimoto ( 橋本 町 , -chō ) with 5 villages ( 紀 見 村 , 山 田村 , 岸上 村 , 隅 田村 , and 学 文 路 村 ) of Ito County. On March 1, 2006, the community Kōyaguchi ( 高 野 口 町 , -chō ) was incorporated from the same district.
