Shingū ( Japanese 新 宮 市 , -shi ) is a city in the Japanese prefecture of Wakayama .
geography
Shingū is located south of Kumano and southeast of Wakayama on the Pacific Ocean .
The district ( Kumanogawachō -) Tamaguchi, which was an independent municipality until 1956, in the northeast is an exclave of Shingū on the border between the prefectures of Mie and Nara .
