Harima Province

Harima ( Japanese. 播 磨 国 , Harima no kuni ) or Banshū ( 播 州 ) was one of the historical provinces of Japan on the island of Honshū , in the southwest part of today's Hyōgo prefecture .

Harima bordered the provinces of Inaba , Tajima , Tamba , Settsu , Bizen, and Mimasaka . The capital was Himeji .

In the Edo period , the Akō fiefdom , from which the 47 Rōnin came, was part of Harima.
