Tokachi Province

Tokachi ( Japanese 十勝 国 , Tokachi no kuni ) was a short-lived Japanese province in the area of ​​today's Hokkaidō Prefecture . It corresponds to the current Tokachi sub-prefecture .

history

On August 15, 1869, the Tokachi Province was founded with seven districts . The 1872 census was found to be 1464 inhabitants. In 1882 the provinces on Hokkaidō were dissolved.

  • Tōbui-gun ( 当 縁 郡 ) - dissolved on April 1, 1906, when three villages merged to form the village of Moyori, today's Hirō (Hirō County) and two other villages with the village of Ōtsu (Tokachi County).
