Roman Maria Koidl

Roman Maria Koidl (* 1967 in Troisdorf ) is an Austrian entrepreneur , art dealer and author .

Live and act

Koidl's mother comes from the Rhineland , his father is Austrian . At the end of the 1980s, Koidl was, among other things, head of service at Antenne Bayern . In 1990 he joined Gruber, Titze & Partner / Cap Gemini Ernst & Young as an assistant consultant , where he was employed as a management consultant for marketing and sales.

Koidl founded various companies in Frankfurt am Main in the 1990s: Koidl & Cie. In 1993 . Management Consultants GmbH , 1996 the coffee shop chain World Coffee Convenience Stores GmbH and 1997 the Koidl & Cie. Market Information GmbH . The first World Coffee Shop was opened in Frankfurt's Börsenstrasse . In December 1999 he sold his majority shareholding with 28 coffee shops to Rösterei Machwitz GmbH , Hanover, and the holding companies 3i and Brandenburg Capital.

With retroactive effect from January 1, 2000, he bought through Koidl & Cie. Holding AG the branches of the traditional but insolvent confectionery chain MOST Chocolat . At times he operated 120 shops with 800 employees. In 2002 Koidl filed for bankruptcy for the branch chain . In 2003 he reacquired the name of the former Most Chocolate company .

He is the author of non-fiction and novels, including the title Bastards - Why It's Always the Wrong, who explores the question of why attractive women in their prime feel like they are getting into contact with the wrong man.

In 2012 he was scheduled as a so-called "online advisor" for the SPD chancellor candidate Peer Steinbrück , but had to leave after almost a month - two days after the subsequent public announcement - because of an earlier job for a US investment fund.

Koidl lives in Zurich and wrote a column for the Swiss tabloid Blick from March 2013 to April 2014 .

Koidl is the founder of the online marketplace fineartmultiple for contemporary art.

Koidl art gallery

In 2008 his private art space Kunsthalle Koidl , of which he is also managing director, opened in Berlin-Charlottenburg with the exhibition MOVES - Collection Dresdner Bank . The Koidl art gallery is located in the building of the former substation by Richard Brademann (1928) on Gervinusstrasse, which was renovated for this purpose .
