Diseases

The boxwood fungus Cylindrocladium buxicola has also been spreading in Georgia since around 2010 . There it threatens the populations of the Colchian boxwood in various protected areas in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara ( Colchis National Park , the protected landscape of the Kintrischi and the Mtirala National Park ), in which the disease has already occurred. The Agriculture Committee of the Georgian Parliament therefore dealt with the issue on April 25, 2012.
