The College of Niederlitauens ( lit. Žemaitijos kolegija ) is a university in Telšiai , Lithuania . The college bears the name of Žemaitija , a region in western Lithuania.

history

In 1931 the school was for wood processing in Telšiai on the initiative of the Mayor Feliksas Milevičius founded. From 1939, metal processing was also taught there as part of vocational training. In 1945 the educational institution became the Telšiai School of Applied Arts and in 1959 the Technical Center .

In August 2002 the Rietavas Higher Agricultural School was reorganized into a college ( Žemaitijos kolegija ) with 2 faculties ( management and technologies ). In June 2003 the Telšiai High School of Applied Arts (formerly the Telšiai Culture School) became the Telšiai Arts and Pedagogy Faculty and the Mažeikiai Polytechnic School became the Mažeikiai Department of the Rietavas Management Faculty.

In 2013 there were 190 employees.
