The Kolp ( Russian Колпь ) is a right tributary of the Suda in the Russian oblasts of Leningrad and Vologda .

The Kolp has its origin in the small lake Ekschosero on the Vepsovsk heights in the Leningrad Oblast near the border with the Vologda Oblast. Initially it flows mainly in a southerly direction, later turning to the east. The small town of Babajewo lies on the river. The Kolp flows through the Mologa-Scheksna lowland . Finally, the Kolp meets the Suda, 57 km above its mouth in the Rybinsk Reservoir .

The Kolp has a length of 254 km. It drains an area of 3730 km². The melting snow makes a significant share of the annual runoff. Spring floods occur in April and May . The mean discharge 30 km above the mouth is 25.2 m³ / s. In November the Kolp freezes. In the second half of April / beginning of May it will be free of ice again. The most important tributaries of the Kolp are the Wescharka from the left and the Krupen from the right.

At least earlier, rafting was operated on the Kolp .
